The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for assisting Dutch nationals abroad, particularly in times of crisis. The ministry issues bulletins about the security situation in various countries. In addition, every Dutch embassy has an evacuation plan to ensure that Dutch nationals can be repatriated in the event of an emergency.
The ministry's travel advice is compiled by the Dutch embassy in the country concerned. The embassies themselves issue recommendations in consultation with the embassies of other EU member states to ensure that all European countries give roughly the same advice.
The advice is updated as frequently as necessary, depending on developments in any given region. All current bulletins are posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (in Dutch).
Consular officials are charged with promoting and protecting the interests
of Dutch nationals within their consular district. So Dutch nationals may ask

need arise. Dutch law does not confer a right to consular assistance. It is
up to the Dutch government to grant it. Consular assistance is only provided
to Dutch nationals who run into trouble and cannot find help any other
way.
See the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for specific subjects of
