Appointment of a Council for the Judiciary member
The Council of Ministers has adopted the proposal submitted by Mr Opstelten, the Minister of Security and Justice, to nominate Mr F.C. Bakker as member of the Council for the Judiciary. The appointment will take effect on 1 July 2012.
Mr Bakker is presently chairing the management board of the District Court in The Hague. He read law and obtained his doctorate in law at the University of Groningen. In the past, Mr Bakker was a judge in Breda and vice president of the District Court in Haarlem.
Mr Bakker will succeed Mr J.C. van Dijk, who has been appointed president of the Disciplinary Appeals Tribunal.
