Career

Wilma Mansveld began her career with various management support and assistant positions, including at Creatief Vakantieverblijven, general and psychiatric hospitals in the north of the Netherlands and Utrecht, Jaguar Import Nederland and an advertising agency.

From 1997 to 2001 Ms Mansveld was human resources manager at Gran Dorado Beheer en Projecten B.V. in Groningen and at the head office in Amsterdam.

From 2001 to 2011 Ms Mansveld was secretary of the Social and Economic Council for the Northern Netherlands. On 15 March 2007 she also became a member of the Groningen Provincial Council for the PvdA, and was leader of the PvdA group in the Council from May 2009 to April 2011.

From 13 April 2011 until her appointment as state secretary, Wilma Mansveld was a member of the Groningen Provincial Executive, responsible for economic affairs, energy, youth care and facilities management.
On 5 November 2012 Wilma Mansveld was appointed State Secretary for Infrastructure and the Environment (Minister for the Environment) in the Rutte-Asscher government.

Party and various other positions

Wilma Mansveld was deputy leader and leader of the PvdA group in the Groningen Provincial Council and a member of the PvdA Centre for Local Government (CLB).

Before she joined the Provincial Executive, Ms Mansveld held various other positions. She has served on the supervisory boards of RBO in Groningen, the Lentis mental healthcare centre in Zuidlaren and the Van Mesdag forensic psychiatric centre in Groningen.
