Forming the Rutte government in 2010

The last elections for a new House of Representatives were held on 9 June 2010. The Electoral Council announced the official results of the election on 15 June. The process of forming a new government started after the elections. The Rutte government was sworn in after 125 days, on 14 October 2010.

The Rutte government formed in October 2010 is a minority government. The governing parties together have 52 seats (the VVD has 31 and the CDA 21). With the support of the PVV (24 seats) the government has a majority of 76 of the 150 seats in the House of Representatives.
