Concern about violence and political process in Iraq
Foreign minister Uri Rosenthal has condemned the attacks in Iraq and is concerned about the political process there.
‘There's been a clear break in the trend of decreasing violence in the country,’ says the minister. ‘Tensions between Sunnis and Shi'ites are rising; the government is in crisis; and civilian casualties are mounting. Iraq's political leaders need to continue working together by democratic means to create a better future for their country.’
