Second World War
More than 65 years after the end of the Second World War and the National Socialist era, the memory of that period still plays a significant part in the life of the Netherlands. That way, present and future generations can make up their own minds about the events of that period and their continuing significance. In 2009 arrangements for the restitution of artworks looted by the National Socialist regime were extended.
