Netherlands to strengthen border cooperation with Bulgaria
This afternoon, Gerd Leers, Minister for Immigration, Integration and Asylum Policy, will meet with Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Bulgaria’s Minister of Interior. They will sign an agreement strengthening cooperation in the field of border control over the next two years.
The agreement contains an undertaking by the ministers to exchange knowledge on new technology relating to border supervision and border control. Cooperation between the Netherlands and Bulgaria is important, as Bulgaria seeks to join the Schengen Area.
