Minister De Jager to travel to Romania and New York

The Minister of Finance Jan Kees de Jager will participate in the annual IMF Electoral Group meeting in Bucharest and subsequently he will travel on to New York on a brief trade mission.

IMF Group Electoral meeting in Bucharest  

The Netherlands represents 12 other countries in the Board of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank. The annual meeting of this Electoral Group will take place on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 June in Romania. Among other things, the financial stability in the Euro zone and in the world will be discussed as well as the necessity of budgetary consolidation and the debt position reforms of various countries. Apart from the Netherlands the other electoral group countries will also participate in the meeting: Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Ukraine and Romania.

Visit to New York

Subsequently Minister De Jager will travel on to New York for a short trade mission and he will participate in the Dutch Day at the New York Stock Exchange. In New York Mr De Jager will visit the Dutch companies DSM and Suit Supply, among other things, and he will attend some bilateral meetings. In addition a meeting has been planned with the directors of Dutch banks in New York and the Minister will visit Nasdaq. On 20 June Mr De Jager will participate in the Dutch Day at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Here executive directors of Dutch listed companies will meet American investors and representatives from trade and industry and politicians. Minister De Jager will deliver a speech during the banquet.

After his visit to New York Minister De Jager will directly fly on to Luxemburg for the Euro Group and Ecofin meeting on 21 and 22 June.

Responsible ministry
