Two new advocates general for the Supreme Court

Meester G.R.B. van Peursem and meester F.W. Bleichrodt will be advocates general of the Supreme Court. The Cabinet has decided to nominate them for appointment on a proposal from Minister Opstelten of Security and Justice.

Mr van Peursem (1962) will be advocate general of civil affairs for the Supreme Court as of 1 June 2013. He is currently a judge at the Court of Justice in The Hague in the Civil Division. Furthermore, his work includes the membership of the Expert Group advising the European Commission on a future European Patent Court.

Mr Bleichrodt (1968) will be advocate general of the Supreme Court as of 1 September 2013.  He is currently a Professor of criminal law and criminal procedure at the Rotterdam Erasmus University. He is also the chairman of the criminal law department of the Erasmus School of Law.
