Working on an Inclusive Digital Economy

Working together on an inclusive digital economy in developing countries’ was the theme of the final event of Pathways for Prosperity (P4P) at which Minister Kaag, as commissioner of P4P, was present.

Over the past 2 years, P4P has conducted research and organized various meetings to make specific recommendations to developing countries on how they can reap the benefits of technological change. This resulted in the development of the Digital Economy Toolkit.

Minister Kaag participated in a discussion about the realization of digital transformation. She emphasized that it is important that everyone has access to digital technology. In particular women / girls and young people in developing countries must be taught the right digital skills so that they can become part of the digital economy. The Minister also emphasized that the international community has a responsibility to support developing countries in building a robust digital future.
