Can I buy used materiel from the Ministry of Defence?

The ministry usually sells materiel it no longer needs. You can buy this surplus materiel at auction.

Public sale of defence materiel

The ministry transfers materiel it no longer needs to the Movable Property Agency. The agency sells movable property on behalf of all central government bodies.

Nearly all defence materiel is sold by public auction. You can see what is for sale and how you can bid for it on the Movable Property Agency's website (in Dutch).

Not all defence materiel is for sale

The ministry does not auction off strategic materiel such as warships, tanks and fighter aircraft. But you can buy uniforms, cupboards, official cars and other non-strategic materiel.
