External Evaluation MAG Humanitarian Mine Action and Cluster Munitions 2016-2020
This report presents the findings of an independent evaluation of the four year Dutch funded Mines Advisory Group (MAG) Humanitarian Mine Action and Cluster Munition Programme in five target countries: DRC, Iraq, Lebanon, South Sudan and Syria. Conclusions of the evaluation report are overall positive regarding MAG's contribution to the programme objectives.
The evaluation was commissioned by MAG and conducted by an independent evaluator remotely, due to Covid-19 mobility restrictions. The evaluation involved a literature review of project related documents and remote interviews with key stakeholders. The report includes findings and lessons learned and identifies recommendations for MAG to follow-up in future programming. These have been taken on board as part of the new Dutch-funded MAG Mine Action and Cluster Munitions Programme 2020-2024.
