‘People are at the heart of the relationship between government and citizens. I will focus my efforts on helping the parents and children who suffered great hardship due to failings in the childcare benefit system – joining forces with victims and with Benefits Office staff to move the redress operation forward. I also aim to simplify the benefits system. In this way, I will work to restore public trust in government and set injustices right.’
