Full name: Wouter Koolmees

From 1999 to 2003 Mr Koolmees was a consultant/researcher specialising in the labour market and social policy at the Dutch Economic Institute (now Ecorys) in Rotterdam. He then worked in various roles at the Ministry of Finance, including deputy head of the Policy Preparation Office at the Inspectorate for the Budget and, from 2009 to June 2010, head of the Budgetary Policy Division.
On 17 June 2010 Mr Koolmees became a member of parliament for Democrats ’66 (D66). He was spokesperson for finance and housing, and deputy parliamentary party leader.
On 26 October 2017 Wouter Koolmees was appointed Minister of Social Affairs and Employment in the third Rutte government.

Mr Koolmees has held a number of other positions, including member of the Board of Trustees of the National Academy for Finance and Economics (RAFEB).
