One million euros in emergency aid for Japan

The Netherlands is donating one million euros in emergency aid to Japan, which was devastated by an earthquake and tsunami ten days ago. The money will be channelled through the Dutch Red Cross to the Japanese Red Cross Society, which is playing a key role in the relief effort.

The Dutch Red Cross has also started an appeal for members of the public who would like to make a donation. All funds raised will go directly towards the Japanese relief effort.
