Dolmatov's mother agrees to compensation

Mr Dolmatov, a Russian asylum seeker, killed himself in early 2013 while being detained as a foreign national. Research performed by the Security and Justice Inspectorate later showed that various organisations cooperating in the immigration process acted negligently at various times. State Secretary Teeven (Security and Justice) offered his apologies and informed the House of Representatives that he sees sufficient grounds for compensating the damage suffered by the surviving relative(s) as a result of the death of Mr Dolmatov.

In connection with this and after publication of the inspection report, discussions were held with Ms Doronina and her authorised representative about the compensation. Dolmatov's mother signed the agreement (translated into Russian) with the Dutch government today. No information is disclosed about the contents of the agreement.
