Grapperhaus visits Turkey
Minister of Justice and Security Grapperhaus has paid a two-day working visit to Turkey. Among others, Grapperhaus spoke with Minister of the Interior Soylu and Minister of Justice Gül. National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) Aalbersberg was also part of the working visit delegation. The visit took place within the framework of the security dialogue between the Netherlands and Turkey.
A multitude of topics were discussed during the talks, with an emphasis on issues affecting national security, such as counterterrorism. The development of the rule of law and the fight against subversive crime were also discussed. Turkey is an important partner for the Netherlands regarding these matters, not least because of its role in the region.
The visit ended with the laying of a wreath at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk, the first President of the Republic of Turkey.
