Future of Defence

The Netherlands has opted for armed forces that are deployable for a broad range of operations. This allows the armed forces to execute a large array of tasks and tackle as many threats as possible. Defence must, however, prioritise in terms of the available means. In addition to a number of small-scale missions and national tasks, the Defence organisation can take on no more than one major operation at sea, on land and in the air. For this job, however, it will have the best systems and the most advanced materiel at its disposal, for nothing less is good enough for the men and women we send on missions.
