Medicines Evaluation Board (CBG)

The Medicines Evaluation Board (College ter Beoordeling van Geneesmiddelen or CBG) is an independent board that makes decisions about what medicines will be admitted to the market. The CBG thus promotes the proper and safe use of medicines in the Netherlands.

CIBG

The CIBG agency is an executive organisation within the Ministry of VWS which, based on legislation or established policy, makes decisions, registers data, issues permits and permissions, and provides support to committees and boards that have an oversight function in health care.

Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ)

The Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ) is the supervisory authority responsible for monitoring the quality and safety of healthcare and youth care services in the Netherlands. The IGJ is the result of a merger between the Health Care Inspectorate and the Youth Care Inspectorate, formerly two separate bodies.

National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM)

The RIVM conducts scientific research on behalf of government policy and the oversight exercised in the area of public health, the environment and nature. The institute is an independent branch of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). It also conducts research for the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (I&M) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (EL&I).

Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP)

The Netherlands Institute for Social Research (Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau) is a scientific institute that conducts independent research and, based on this research, issues solicited or unsolicited advice – to the government, the Senate, the House of Representatives, to ministries and other social and government organisations.
One of the permanent tasks of the SCP is the production of the biennial Social and Cultural Report, the biennial report Social State of the Netherlands and the four-yearly Public Sector Memorandum. The SCP was founded in 1973.
