On-road vehicle NOx-emission measurements using plume chasing

In 2024, TNO carried out a measurement campaign with a plume-chase car to gain insight into the share of vehicles with high emissions (high-emitters) in the Dutch vehicle fleet. The results of the measurements were analyzed to determine the NOx emissions in mg/km. A share of high emitters of 8% was found for petrol cars and 7% for diesel cars. A share of high emitters of 6% was found for Euro-VI trucks.
