Cocaine found in body warmers
The Schiphol Team, a cooperation between Customs and the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary, has arrested a passenger who had hidden more than two kilos of cocaine in five body warmers. The passenger was on a flight from Peru.
During the inspection of the passenger’s luggage by the Schiphol Team, it was conspicuous that he had five body warmers with him. None of these felt as supple as expected. The cocaine was found on further inspection, when the inner lining of one body warmer was cut open. In the end, cocaine was found to be present in all five body warmers.
The passenger, a 26-year old suspect with Dutch nationality, has been arrested by the Schiphol Team.
The investigation is currently being directed by the Public Prosecution Service in Haarlem, location Schiphol Airport.
