Can my British partner move to the Netherlands with me after Brexit?
December 24, 2020, 4 pm: The information on this page will possibly be updated in accordance with the partnership between the EU and the UK.
If you are a Dutch national and you lived in the United Kingdom with your British partner before the UK left the European Union, your partner can move to the Netherlands with you. Other members of your family may also come to the Netherlands with you. This includes any children you and/or your partner have who are under 18. Or any adult members of your family who you are financially responsible for.
But you must meet certain requirements. For example, you must be able to prove that you lived together for at least three months in the UK and that you were legally resident there.
This information also applies if you lived in the UK with a partner from another non-EU country before the UK left the European Union.
