Travelling to the Netherlands from abroad

Travelling to the UK from the Netherlands
When travelling to the UK you will be subject to UK border controls and baggage checks. The UK procedures from 1 January 2021 may be different to the ones prior to that time. This means that it may take longer to get through customs. You can find out more on the UK government website.
Travelling to the Netherlands from the UK
When travelling to the Netherlands from the UK you will be subject to Dutch border controls and baggage checks. From 2021, if you wish to bring goods with you from the UK, different customs rules will apply than the ones you have been used to. You may also experience more in-depth customs controls. From 2021, British nationals travelling to the Netherlands will be subject to the same controls as third-country nationals. Third countries are countries that are not members of the European Union and/or the Schengen area. These controls are more detailed and can take longer.
