Negative COVID-19 test result: exemptions

26 november 2021: A coronavirus variant of concern has been discovered in southern Africa. From 12.00 noon on 26 November a ban is in place on passenger flights to the Netherlands, Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba. Information on this page will be updated as soon as possible.

You must show a negative COVID-19 test result if you are travelling to or returning to the Netherlands from outside the EU/Schengen or a COVID-19 risk area within the EU/Schengen. This requirement applies to everyone aged 12 or over. There are some exceptions to the mandatory negative COVID-19 test result if you are travelling to or returning to the Netherlands. For example, people travelling from the EU who have proof of vaccination or proof of recovery are exempted.
