Using proof of vaccination to generate a COVID Certificate (for people living in The Netherlands)

If you have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus, you can convert your proof of vaccination into a COVID Certificate using CoronaCheck. You can use this certificate to travel within the European Union/Schengen and for entry to events and food and drink venues in the Netherlands.

You can generate your QR code using CoronaCheck.

Using CoronaCheck

You can generate a digital certificate in the CoronaCheck app. Or you can print a paper certificate at CoronaCheck.nl. You can use this certificate as:

Linked to RIVM and GGD registration systems

CoronaCheck retrieves vaccination data from the registration systems of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the municipal health services (GGDs). If you gave permission for your data to be passed on to RIVM, the organisation that vaccinated you will have done so. But you can also get proof of vaccination even if you did not give permission. If you were vaccinated recently, you may not yet be able to retrieve your data via CoronaCheck. It can take up to 3 days before your data is processed.

Proof of vaccination for travel outside Europe

If you are travelling to a country outside Europe, the CoronaCheck QR code will usually not be sufficient as proof of vaccination to enter the country. Check the travel advice for the country you are travelling to (in Dutch only) to see what kind of documentation you need and what requirements it must meet.
