Family members who are nationals of a non-EU country may be exempt from the EU entry ban. They must still satisfy the standard conditions for entry.
The following family members are exempt from the entry ban:
- the person you are married to;
- the person you have a registered partnership with;
- your children or those of your spouse or registered partner, if the children are under 18;
- the person with whom you have a long-term relationship. Check the IND website for more information on what qualifies as a long-term relationship. You must be able to provide evidence such as a birth certificate or lease agreement.
Family members who are exempt from the EU entry ban may visit you for up to 90 days or for as long as their visa is valid. Check whether your family members need a short-stay visa.
If your family members want to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days, they may first need to apply for an authorisation for temporary stay (MVV) or a regular residence permit.
Please note: your family members may be required to self-quarantine for 10 days on arrival in the Netherlands.
