Mandatory quarantine for travellers from very high-risk areas (requirement to stay at home or in your accommodation)
26 november 2021: The information on this page will be updated as soon as possible following the news of the flight ban from very high-risk areas with a COVID-19 virus variant of concern (in Dutch only).
Everyone aged 13 and over must self-quarantine on arrival in the Netherlands after a stay in a very high-risk area due to coronavirus. Some exceptions apply, however. You do not need to quarantine if you are fully vaccinated. From 10 November 2021 you will not need to quarantine if you have proof of recovery in the form of an EU Digital Corona Certificate (DCC).
Mode of transport
It doesn’t matter how you travel to the Netherlands. The mandatory quarantine requirement applies regardless of how travellers enter the country; be it by air, train, bus/coach or car.
