Customs seize counterfeit clothing

On 14 February 2011 the Amsterdam Customs intercepted 120 boxes containing 4190 items of counterfeit clothing coming from Turkey.

The counterfeit clothing was part of a larger shipment of original designer-label clothing, with a valid transport document, intended for the English market.

The Customs discovered the counterfeit clothing between the original clothing during a routine check in Zwaag (N-H) at the address where the shipment was unloaded. It turned out that the counterfeit clothing was destined for the Dutch market.

The Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service and Economic Investigation Service (FIOD) has taken over the investigation and has seized the clothing.
