Henk Kamp and Neelie Kroes launch new digital platform StartupDelta.org

With the launch of the new portal StartupDelta.org the Netherlands has become more appealing for startups; nationally and internationally.
The platform provides startups with technical and fiscal information and an overview of financial regulations.

The Minister of Economic Affairs Henk Kamp, Neelie Kroes, Special Envoy for startups, and Harry van Dorenmalen, General Manager of IBM Netherlands, launched the portal StartupDelta.org today at the campus of The Hague Security Delta.

Minister Henk Kamp: “The Netherlands aims to offer ambitious entrepreneurs room to cultivate their talent, grow their business and thus, create jobs. 40% of new jobs in the Netherlands were created by companies that didn’t even exist five years ago. StartupDelta.org offers young entrepreneurs the support and network they need, in order to grow their businesses into companies with an international allure.

Special Envoy for startups Kroes: “StartupDelta has the ambition to be among the top three startup ecosystems in Europe, in line with London and Berlin. With this portal we're not only presenting Dutch startups but we're enabling international startups to find their way in our country as well. By connecting all parties in the Dutch startup ecosystem we create a dynamic marketplace for everything startups require to grow. The strength of the Dutch ecosystem is based upon 'joining and sharing' and this portal will boost just that.

Over 1,000 startups and tech companies

By launching StartupDelta.org, the cabinet aims to strengthen the international position of startups in the Netherlands, and attract innovative foreign startups to settle in this country.

Over 1,000 Dutch startups and technology companies present themselves on StartupDelta.org and show what they have to offer in the way of specialised programmes, specialisations and technology.

By presenting themselves on one platform, Dutch companies can easily connect with one another, with potential investors and with specialised mentors. 11 advisors from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce can be reached for help in doing business. Dutch embassies and consulates are involved in the development of the portal. With just one click they can connect international investors and entrepreneurs to the Dutch startup network. StartupDelta also offers easy acces to news, talent, jobs, news.

Public-private collaboration

StartupDelta.org was created in collaboration with the ministry of Economic Affairs by StartupJuncture and DutchBasecamp. StartupJuncture and DutchBasecamp are Dutch foundations, which were established by entrepreneurs aiming to create room for startups in the Netherlands. Besides public information from Ondernemersplein, there is a private part for investors.

IBM Nederland has built the website and offers the required technology for startups to grow and develop. This special public-private collaboration offers StartupDelta entrepreneurs everything they need to invest, innovate and grow.
