Rosenthal recalls ambassador for talks

Minister of Foreign Affairs Uri Rosenthal has recalled the Dutch ambassador to Iran. Mr Rosenthal, who is currently in the Middle East, will have talks with him next Thursday. The Dutch ambassador has not been recalled indefinitely.

Before departing for the Netherlands, the ambassador will register a sharp, high-level protest at the Iranian authorities' disrespectful treatment of the family of Zahra Bahrami, the Dutch-Iranian woman who was executed in Iran last week. She was buried on Sunday afternoon four hundred kilometres from Tehran.

This morning, the Iranian ambassador to the Netherlands was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for talks with the Secretary-General. The Secretary-General was acting on behalf of the Minister.
