Total of 183 victims onboard flight MH17 identified
Today it was announced that another ten of the victims of the MH17 plane crash were identified this week. Five of the ten victims are of Dutch nationality. The remaining five are of other nationality. Including the victims already identified, a total of 183 victims onboard flight MH17 have now been identified.
The victims' next of kin have been informed. The mayors of the victims' hometowns will also be informed at the request of the victims' families. The nationality of the non-Dutch victims is being kept confidential at the request of the Embassies of the countries involved.
A team of specialists are still in the process of identifying the bodies of the remaining victims, but have stressed that it could take months before all of the victims are identified. The media are periodically informed of the progress of the identification process.
