193 victims of MH17 air disaster identified
The announcement was made today that a total of 10 victims of downed flight MH17 were identified this week. Of these 10 victims, 6 have the Dutch nationality and 4 have a different nationality. Including the earlier identifications, a total of 193 victims of the MH17 air disaster have now been identified.
The victims' relatives have been informed. In consultation with the relatives and if requested, the mayor of the victim's town is also informed. At the request of the embassies of the relevant countries, information about the nationality of non-Dutch victims is not released.
A team of specialists is working hard on the identification process, but have already stressed that it could take many more months before every victim is identified. The media is periodically informed on the status of the process.
