A total of 272 victims on board flight MH17 identified
Today it was announced that another ten of the victims of the MH17 plane crash were identified this week. 7 of these 10 victims are of Dutch nationality. The remaining 3 are of another nationality. Including the victims already identified, a total of 272 victims on board flight MH17 have now been identified.
The victims' next of kin have been informed. The mayors of the victims' home towns will also be informed at the request of the victims' families. The nationality of the non-Dutch victims is being kept confidential at the request of the embassies of the countries involved.
A team of specialists is in the process of identifying the bodies of the remaining victims, but have stressed that it could be some time before all of the victims are identified.
