New budget for NATO Summit
In its initial budget for the NATO Summit, the government estimated that it would cost €95 million. Now that the details of organising the summit have become clearer, this amount has been adjusted. For example, more security measures will be needed than were originally expected. And additional programme elements have been added in response to ongoing international developments. On example is the NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF). In addition, wages for staff and expenditures for goods and services have been higher than anticipated.
NATO covers its own expenses
NATO will cover its own expenses, such as hotel accommodation for its staff and security at sites where heads of state and government leaders will meet.
It is customary for the host country to contribute to the cost of organising a NATO Summit. In this way, each member country bears an equal share of the expense.
