Do you receive an AOW (state pension) or will be receiving it soon? Do you wish to make an application for a DigiD from outside of the Netherlands? You can do so by contacting the Sociale Verzekeringsbank – SVB (social insurance bank).

Conditions for applying for a DigiD as a state pensioner outside the Netherlands
To apply for a DigiD as a state pensioner from outside of the Netherlands, you must meet the following conditions:
- you already receive a state pension from the Dutch Government or have a letter from the SVB stating that you will soon be receiving a state pension;
- you have a burgerservicenummer – BSN (citizen service number).

Once you make your application, you will receive an activation code. This allows you to activate your DigiD. You will receive this code by post. The code is valid for 45 days after your application.
