Investigator for police's collective labour agreement
Minister Van der Steur (Security and Justice) has agreed with the police trade unions to appoint Mr Hans Borstlap as the investigator for the collective labour agreement (CLA) for the police. Mr Borstlap has been a member of the Council of State (Raad van State) since 2002.
The negotiations for a new CLA for the police have reached stalemate. The investigator will conduct discussions with the various parties and identify the positions regarding the CLA negotiations. The parties are emphasising that this does not constitute a resumption of the negotiations, but rather a means to achieve clarity on the circumstances that would permit such successful resumption. Once the investigator has issued his report, the Minister and the police trade unions will meet again to see whether and how the negotiations can be resumed.
