Wim Kuijken reappointed as Delta Programme Commissioner

At the behest of Minister for the Environment Schultz, Wim Kuijken has been reappointed as Delta Programme Commissioner. In accordance with the Delta Act, his reappointment has been ratified by Royal Decree and will go into effect on 1 February 2017.

As the government commissioner for the Delta Programme, W.J. (Wim) Kuijken draws up the annual national Delta Programme and monitors its progress on behalf of the Cabinet and other administrative partners in the Delta Programme. The Delta Act sets out the responsibilities and authorities of the Delta Programme Commissioner.

Spatial economist Kuijken officially took up office as the first Delta Programme Commissioner on 1 February 2010. Previously, Mr Kuijken held the position of Secretary-General at the Ministry of Transport & Public Works, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, and the Ministry of General Affairs.
