Commissariat for Military Production

The Commissariat for Military Production (CMP) is a unit within the Industry Directorate, which in turn forms part of the Directorate-General for Enterprise and Innovation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.

The Commissariat’s objective is to promote competitive participation of the Netherlands defence industry and service sector in the development, production and procurement of equipment and services on the (inter)national defence market.

In the pursuit of this objective, CMP's is responsible for, amongst other duties, the operation of the Netherlands’ offset policy. The goal of offset policy is to maximise the benefit to the national economy of the national expenditure on defence equipment and services.

In this context CMP seeks to inform the public about the Defence Industry Strategy, Security and the involvement of the Netherlands industry in the Joint Strike Fighter Programme. This latter programme constitutes a specific sphere of activity for CMP.
