Freight transportation

The transport of goods is of great importance to the Dutch economy. In the Netherlands, a large proportion of goods are transported by road.

The Dutch government would like the transport sector to improve the efficiency of freight transport. For example, by having goods transported (in part) by train or in land shipping. Intelligent combinations of goods transport by road, by rail and on water could reduce the number of unnecessary lorry trips by road.
