Statement by Minister of Foreign Affairs David van Weel on Greenland and Arctic security, 14 January 2026.
Good that Denmark, Greenland and the US were able to discuss security concerns and ways to address those. We welcome and support the continuation of discussions in a high-level working group. It is only for Denmark and Greenland to decide on the future of Greenland. It is also important that concerns about security and stability in the Arctic are discussed within NATO, and that allies work together to safeguard that Arctic security.
