What is the current situation with regard to the TTIP?
On behalf of the 28 member states of the EU, the European Commission had been conducting negotiations with the United States on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). These negotiations are currently at a standstill. No new rounds of talks are scheduled.
Negotiations began in July 2013. Since that time there have been 15 rounds of talks, both in Brussels and the US. The latest round was in October 2016.
Almost all of the Commission’s proposals are available online, as are its public reports on the various negotiation rounds.
