This evaluation takes stock of the development of Dutch foreign policies in Latin America over the past ten years.
Said policies have undergone a lot of changes and have led to an increased level of attention to economic diplomacy. At the same time, due to budgetary cuts, the presence of the Netherlands in the Latin American region has decreased. Should the Netherlands manage its foreign policy via the EU in the near future? What are the implications for bilateral relations? How should the rapid withdrawal of Dutch development cooperation be assessed? These and other questions form part of the central question of this particular evaluation: How did the Netherlands’ foreign policy react to changes in Latin America?
