Revue a mi-parcours du dispositif de mise en oeuvre a travers les associations de la societe civile et les GSAN du projet Kura Kibondo III

The Kura Kibondo III project (2022–2025), funded by the Dutch Embassy in Bujumbra and implemented by WeWorld-GVC with 16 local partners, aims to improve food security, nutrition, and household resilience in four provinces in western Burundi. It supports households with malnourished children through community structures (GSAN), savings groups (AVEC), and livelihood activities. The mid-term evaluation found the approach effective in improving practices, financial inclusion, and coordination at community level. However, challenges remained regarding sustainability, integration of newly vulnerable households, reliance on volunteer structures, and the need for stronger institutional anchoring and greater autonomy of community groups.
