Feasibility of using private sector tools to assess the alignment of financial flows with nature

At the end of 2022, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework was adopted, setting biodiversity goals for 2030 and 2050. Achieving these goals requires aligning all public and private financial flows at every level with the framework's objectives, through both investing in biodiversity ("financing green") and investing in the sustainable use of biodiversity ("greening finance"). At the request of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, CREM conducted a feasibility study—together with CDC Biodiversité—on how to measure the alignment of financial flows with nature.
