Invitations to Ministers

The Ministers and State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport receive numerous invitations. They may be asked to pay a working visit, to open a building, to speak at a conference or to attend the presentation of a book.

The Ministers and State Secretary value these invitations greatly. They find it very useful to talk to people around the country and see how policy can be improved and renewed.

Inviting one of our Ministers or our State Secretary can be done by filling out an invitation form; you’ll find a link below. If you have any other questions, comments or suggestions to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, please go to the contact page.

Invite the right person

An invitation to an event which falls outside the portfolio of the Minister is unlikely to succeed. Check their portfolios before making a request.

Give supporting arguments to your request

Give clear supporting arguments. Why is this the right time for a meeting or visit? Why do you want to invite this Minister or State Secretary? What have you recently achieved or started that is interesting to see? If you have any background material, such as a folder, please include this as attachment to your request.

Well in advance of the event

Try to send your invitation at least three months before the event. It takes about three weeks to coordinate a visit with the policy department, communications department and the Minister or State Secretary. Due to very busy schedules, last-minute invitations are almost impossible to fit in.

Conditional acceptance

Please be aware that when the Minister or State Secretary accepts your invitation this is a conditional acceptance. This means that there is a change that they have to cancel their attendance on very short notice, due to last minute debates in Parliament (these debates always take priority) or other urgent matters.
