Heavy drinking is bad for your health. Drinking too much can lead to other problems too, like traffic accidents and violent behaviour in bars and clubs. The government has taken steps to stop underage drinking, and alcoholism and alcohol abuse among adults. It is illegal to sell alcohol to a minor (a person who is under 18). And it is a criminal offence for minors to be in possession of alcohol in public places. This includes pubs and canteens as well as outdoor areas like parks and streets.
