If you can contribute to the Dutch economy or to Dutch culture or science, you are more likely to be admitted to the Netherlands. This is laid down in the Modern Migration Policy Act.
Why does the Netherlands want to attract foreign entrepreneurs and scientists?
Entrepreneurs create new products, services and jobs. And post-doctoral academic staff from abroad can improve the quality of Dutch research institutes. The government wants the Netherlands to participate more effectively in the global economy. So innovative entrepreneurs and scientists are being encouraged to come to the Netherlands.
