Reporting an unsafe situation involving an aircraft

Do you want to report an unsafe situation involving an aircraft? Do you think, for example, that aircraft are flying above your home in an unsafe manner? You can report this to the Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport – ILT (Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate). If you work in aviation, you are always required to report an unsafe situation. This also applies if you fly as a hobby.

Reporting an unsafe situation involving an aircraft if you do not work in aviation

Do you not work in aviation? You can report the unsafe situation (in Dutch) to the ILT.

You can file a report if, for example:

  • 2 aircraft seem to almost touch each other in the air;
  • the aircraft on which you are travelling has visible defects.

Reporting unsafe situations involving aircraft if you work in aviation or fly as a hobby

Do you work in aviation? Or do you fly as a hobby? If so, you must always report an unsafe situation. You are legally required to do so. You can report the unsafe situation to the ILT Analysebureau luchtvaartvoorvallen (aviation occurrence analysis office). Use an aviation occurrence report form (in Dutch) to do this.
