Who receives child benefit
You receive child benefit for raising and caring for your biological children and for, for example, adopted children or foster children. Please consult the website of the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) to check if you are eligible for child benefit.
Applying for child benefit
Please contact the SVB to apply for child benefit. If you are already receiving child benefit and your second or next child is born in the Netherlands, you don’t have to do anything. The SVB will automatically adjust the amount of child benefit for you.
