Can I use my DigiD to access public services online in other EEA countries?

You can use your DigiD to log in on the websites of participating public service providers in other countries within the European Economic Area (EEA). For example, you can use your DigiD to see your pension details in Belgium. Or to register the birth of your child in Austria. This is only possible if the public service provider facilitates access using other countries’ eID schemes.

How can I use my DigiD to access public services in another EEA country?

Once you have chosen your country on the website of a participating public service provider, you will see how you can log in. You may be able to log in with:

the DigiD app
Please note: to use the DigiD app you must do a one-off verification of your identity document (ID check).
an ID card
Please note: the ID card must have been issued after 13 March 2021.
